MLK Racecourse/Mae Simmons Park  

This famous mountain bike trail is located in Mae Simmons Park near Dunbar Historical Lake in Lubbock, TX. It offers a network of trails to choose from and has a total trail area of around 8 miles, of which 75 percent is singletrack. The trails are not too steep, meaning families could ride together without getting lost or separated. This loop takes you up and down some rolling hills with hardly any trees. However, there are plenty of prairie dogs, and since it’s west Texas, there’s a high likelihood that you’ll get thorns or cacti in your tires so be well prepared.  

Gar Gnar   

Gar Gnar is a 1-mile singletrack trail located within Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock. This mountain bike trail runs in only one direction and takes an average of 6 minutes to complete.

Buffalo Springs Lake Moutain Bike Trail  

The Buffalo Springs Lake Mountain Bike Trail is a one-way loop with plenty of ups and downs and loose gravel. A good portion of the trail runs through the rim of Buffalo Springs Lake with many trails such as the Pony Express trail, Indian trail, and Teepe trail. It is a little distance south of Highway 84 on High Meadow Road.
